Am 3. Februar 1992 erschien die erste Aeronauten-Kassette Am 3. Februar 2012 erscheint das Aeronauten Doppelalbum „Too Big To Fail“.
Großes Kino auf CD 1: Wie der Albumtitel schon sagt, wächst hier die frühere Rumpelkapelle zu orchestraler Größe heran. Sie nennen es Popmusik. Ist es gar „Post-Pop“? Die Texte sind voll mit abgründigem Humor, großen Bildern, überraschenden Wendungen und pathetischen Versprechungen. 12 Stücke die man als Songs oder auch als Kurzgeschichten hören kann. Und Tanzen kann man dazu auch!
Großes Kino auf CD 2: Eine cineastische Reise zu unflätigen Kleinstadtkriminellen, grantigen Inselbewohnern, Apfelfanatikern und Pflaumenfeinden, ins Land der toten Esel, ins warme Weltall und zu den Glücklichen, die alle Probleme für ihre Lösung gefunden haben. Endlich die Filmmusikplatte, die die Aeronauten schon immer machen wollten!
On February 3rd 1992 the first Aeronauten music cassette was released, exactly 20 years later the new double album “Too Big To Fail” is coming out.
On CD 1 we find Switzerland’s greatest indie-pop band, feat. singer, producer and theatre musician Oliver “Guz” Maurmann,” in top form. 12 tracks which show all facets of their unique style in telling stories with music and combining lyrics and sound to something bigger. Great melodies meet their driving brass section, charming lyrics meet everyday life absurdities of the 35+ generation. These guys are likeable and truthful, their music is timeless, good and extremely danceable.
On CD 2, which is mostly instrumental, the Swiss band starts a cinematic journey to bawdy small town criminals, huffy insulars, apple lovers and plum haters, to the country of dead donkeys, to the cosy outer space and to the lucky ones who have found all problems for their solutions. This is the soundtrack album they always wanted to do!
